Gayle M. Bomberger MYERSTOWN Gayle M. Bomberger, 80, formerly of E. Bahney Ave., Myerstown, died Friday, August 2, 2013, at the M.S. Hershey Medical Center. She was the wife of Dr. Daniel A. Bomberger, to whom she would have been married 55 years on August 16, 2013. Born in Wilmington, Del., on March 14, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Laura Lillian (Smith) and Alan H. Mendenhall. She was a 1951 graduate of Kennett High School, Kennett Square, and received a B.S. in Art Education in 1955 from Kutztown University. She had been an art teacher at Myerstown High School and did free lance artwork including paintng murals at Bayer Corp., Myerstown, in the 1980's. She was a member of Myerstown U.C.C., where she sang in the choir, had been a Sunday School teacher, was a member of the Knitter's Group, and enjoyed decorating the church for many years. She also enjoyed attending performance theaters, and all kinds of art. In addition to her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Carol, wife of Kenneth Wengert, Jr. of Gurnee, Ill.; son, Carl Bomberger of Lititz; grandchildren, Bryan Wengert of Normal, Ill., and Alyson Wengert of Gurnee, Ill.; brother-in-law, Harvey J. Bomberger of Myerstown; sister-in-law, Martha Mendenhall of Wilmington, Del.; niece, Susan Firmani of Wilmington; and nephew, Alan S. Mendenhall of Wilmington. She was preceded in death by a son, Daniel A. Bomberger, and a brother, Alan H. Mendenhall. A memorial service will be held Wednesday, August 7, 2013, at 10 a.m. from Myerstown U.C.C. preceded by a visitation at 9 a.m. at the church. Interment will be at the convenience of the family at Mt. Hope Cemetery, Myerstown. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the "General Fund" of Myerstown U.C.C., 310 W. Main Ave., Myerstown, PA 17067. www.grosefuneralhome.com
